St. Äma

Seal01

In traditional British history, every village housed and funded a "Sin-Eater". A person who, for spiritual or monetary gain, would attend the dying and either he, or a relative would place a small piece of bread upon the chest of the afflicted in their last moments.
The Sin-Eater would then remove the bread from the villager and eat it, consuming their immoral or heinous acts and thus absolve the dying of their sins.
